Hostelworld: Hostel Travel App App Reviews

This may be the best app for finding and booking hostels and hotels. But it has some issues. Trying to create an account in the app doesnt work as it resets the form when inputting a birthdate. The wish list never shows already created lists. It wont remember the amount of people you are traveling with and it wont remember that I want to read English comments too.

Easy to book and a very nice design. Also lots of features including an Apple Watch and Wallet

I like this app. Its very easy to find available rooms, you see a lot of pictures from the hostels & the comments from other persons are very helpful for the decision.

Full of bugs you are not able to do anything.

I used the website before and just downloaded the app today to book a room for tomorrow, and everything was smooth and self explanatory

This app is a fantastic idea! You can find in few seconds your hostel and just booking.

Seems like it might be good. However, I made my bookings on the computer and am unable to see them on the app because there is no place to "sign in" or whatever. And I I do want to see my bookings, than I have to book them on the device. Sorry but until that is fixed it is a useless app for me, and a failed attempt.

Not able to select tomorrows date, your time of arrival must be at least three away. A definite hindrance to last minute travelling.

It has some limitations like others mentioned. But I just wanted to have a list of hostels and cheap hotels, and it does that well.

So far its alright but I cant seem to enter my membership info to saver the $2.00 booking fee. Anyone have this issue too?

Why does the darn thing keep crashing when I want to book or add a selection to favourites?

I cant seem to make a booking using this app. The app always crashes/shuts down for me when I try it. The functionality of this app is limited with the crashes - but may still be useful to get general information about a place. Now, Jan. 19/11, the ap doesnt load- just crashes.

Great website, terrible app. Cant book for more than one person. Doesnt sync to my account. Not easy to navigate. Crashes frequently.

Useful.... But can u optimize it for the iPad please? Would be nice to utilize full screen on iPad.

Terrible, cant change out of euros, missing hostels that our on the main site and the search option doesnt work. Just a waste of time. Thanks for coming out!!!

Couldbe better if it kept history of previous bookings. Out of four i only have one thats in my history.

The website is by far the best way to find and book hostels, but the app is awful. Way is there no way to sign in to my account? Why cant I see all the info I can on the website? Make the app as good as good as the website, and youve got a Guaranteed 5 star rating.

Awesome website, terrible app. Have used hostelworld for 5+ years and was excited that there was now an app. Disappointingly, It would be nice to be able to sync my account so that the hostel I booked on the website appears in the app (when I am searching the city streets for it, while lugging a rucksack, and not having an Internet connection) Map option also doesnt work, and often downloading the city information crashes the app. NEEDS MUCH IMPROVEMENT, but had the potential to become a 5 star app!!!

The app is still not as good as the website on a pc, but for a backpacker currently on the move around Europe with only an iPhone this app is actually useable now. I booked the hostel Im sitting in as I wrote this review with the app. Keep up the improvements and updates and you will get 5 stars.

There are so many issues with this app, I dont know where to start and I only downloaded this about half an hour ago. Started looking through hostels n then I clicked on one to view details and when I clicked back to return to all the hostels, it took me back to the top n wouldnt let me scroll through the hostels so I had to hit back n search again! I went to book one for 4 nights n it doubled up on one of the nights, so I wouldve been paying for 5 nights. I typed in another city n I hit search n it tells me to enter a valid city...Im pretty sure Los Angeles is a valid city! Then San Francisco sort of worked, it was a "valid" city but the search button didnt work, it just kept coming up with the loading sign n never did anything. Please update very soon otherwise theres no use me having this app, which would be great when Im travelling!
